About Quanta on the 'Physical Evidence' Radio Show

4 March 2022Science Popularization

I appeared on the LRT Radio show "Physical Evidence" (Daiktiniai įrodymai) with host Aidas Puklevičius.

With radio host Aidas Puklevičius

We discussed how the great scientists — Planck, Einstein, Heisenberg, and Schrödinger — discovered that quantum objects behave very strangely and that describing quantum particle interactions and states is exceptionally challenging.

I explained Schrödinger's famous 1935 thought experiment: a cat is placed in an isolated box containing a device with a 50% probability of killing it within an hour. After one hour — is the cat alive or dead?

We also talked about quantum computers and their future prospects.
