On the evening of 6 October I was invited to film an episode of "Trikampis" ("Triangle"), a new show on LRT PLIUS that digs into questions that rarely have a quick and simple answer. Does time really exist? What does quantum physics say about it?
From left: Jonas Dagys, Aivaras Vilutis, Mažena Mackoit-Sinkevičienė and Goda Raibytė
At the heart of the show are its three permanent hosts: philosopher and logic lecturer Jonas Dagys, astrobiologist Aivaras Vilutis and science journalist Goda Raibytė. In each episode they are joined by scientists and experts in a particular field. My field was time and quantum physics, but we touched on many more questions during the show.
"Trikampis" will talk about human memory, free will, conspiracy theories, the biology of love, the placebo effect, longevity, beauty standards, climate engineering, black holes, the nature of time and the search for extraterrestrial life.
The makers of the show don't promise a single final answer at the end of each conversation. The aim of "Trikampis" is to show how science searches for answers — where knowledge ends and discussion begins.
It was a wonderful evening with wonderful people — I didn't want the conversation to end.
