Trikampis on LRT PLIUS: is time an illusion?

24 October 2026Science Popularization

On 24 October LRT PLIUS aired the episode of "Trikampis" ("Triangle") that I took part in (I wrote about the filming earlier).

The Trikampis studio: Jonas Dagys, Aivaras Vilutis, me and Goda Raibytė at glowing tables, with the show's title behind usFrom left: Jonas Dagys, Aivaras Vilutis, Mažena Mackoit-Sinkevičienė and Goda Raibytė

In the quantum world, what goes against our everyday intuition is not necessarily impossible. But what does that really tell us about the world around us? What is matter made of? Could we really travel to the future, and why can't we predict everything in the quantum world as precisely as we would like?

You can watch the whole episode in the LRT media library (in Lithuanian): Scientist Mažena: saying that time is an illusion is a somewhat too crude interpretation

Me laughing while explaining something, showing a small distance with my hands

Me explaining something at the table, both index fingers raised

Jonas Dagys speaking and gesturing while Aivaras Vilutis listens, a starry backdrop behind them
